Update history to the Twizy PowerBox made by Kenneth Nilsen Email: kennethnilsen69@me.com V1.80 1. Fixed torque hole around 30-40 km/h Acceleration from 0 upwards, the torque hole is now completely gone. But if you drive for about 30 km/h and then give full speed, you can still feel a little hole. This is only the reduction that will limit current to 400 amp. It not dangerous and hardly noticeable. V1.78 1. The LCD screen would not turn off properly. It is now fixed 2. Has changed the way it reads the CAN bus to get it a bit more stable. (Some unwanted numbers came on occasionally) 3. Motor temp and Battery temp are now displayed constantly on line 3. 4. Manual and Auto Mode are now displayed at the center of line 3 as this [M] and [A] 5. Regen and R-Reduction ON/OFF Now appears as * character, next to [A] and [M] like this: Regeneration OFF *[A] R-Reduction OFF [A]* and Regeneration OFF and R-Reduction OFF *[A]* If the functions are ON then no * is displayed. V1.77 1 Fixed a Nm problem. Some cars did not get more than a maximum of 71Nm. It is now fixed. v1.76 1. Fixed an issue with Regen Reduction if you have Regen value above 255 2. I have now changed the entire reduction and everything is now built up again with brand new reduction system. it reduces now not regen but reduces the maximum current allowed into the battery. I've also changed the layout of the home page because I thought it was too confusing and messy. Since there is now a whole new way of reducing regen I also remove this from the homepage. 3. On and off with regen and regen reduction is like before on button 1 Regen off is now shown with character * on the left on line 3 and the Regen Reduction off are shown with character * on the right side on line 3 4. Fixed an issue with RPM display on Powerbox v1.5 V1.75 1. Fixed an issue that could bring the car to stop during regen reduction (Applies only for a few models). 2. Fixed an issue with displaying of Amp. 3. Removed auto search of LCD address because this made The background light on some displays go on and off at them should not. 4. Fixed an issue that makes Power box unstable after being inside the Battery Info menu. 5. Regen reduction can now be switched on and off by long press button 1 (about 4 seconds). Button 1 now has 3 functions. short press put it in ECO profile. 1-seconds press switches Regen on and off. 4-second press switches regen reduction on or off 6. I have moved SOC regen reduction slightly 0-96% SOC is your regen settings from regen menu 96-96.5% SOC = 87.5% of your regen settings 96.5-97% SOC = 75% of your regen settings 97-97.5% SOC = 62.5% of your regen settings 97.5-98% SOC = 50% of your regen settings 98-98.5% SOC = 37.5% of your regen settings 98.5-99% SOC = 25% of your regen settings 99-99.5% SOC = 12.5% of your regen settings 99.5-100% SOC = 0% 7. you can now set Power box in deep standby mode by pressing the button 1 after you have turned off the ignition. but then you must press the button 3 again when you start your car. In deep standby so the light will always be off. Also when charging your car or when the CAN-bus is active. it stays off until you press the button 3. this is an option for those who are irritated that the light goes on from time to time when the CAN bus is active. on Twizy modeler from 2014 and up. (This does not apply the new 4bit LCD version Powerbox Hardware v1.5) v1.74 1. Fixed an issue in Medium tuning that make it too weak and uneven. 2. swapped around the () [] Regarding Auto Mode and Manual Mode. so that previous info is correct :-) I had managed to do it in opposite order. 3. In the main menu you can now see which Tuning Profile you are on (TP-1 , 2 or 3) 1= Light 2= Medium and 3 = MaxPower. 4. made some more improvements on SOC/temp limitation. V1.73 1. Has added a new sub menu (Battery Info). Currently there are only 7 messages there but it will come more later. 2. I have made some changes on the main screen. Rearranged and removed B-Health. added Reg ON / Off and present value. you can now see how much regen reduced by SOC and Temp 3. Auto mode on off can now be seen like this: Auto mode ON is: (ECO) (Normal) (Sport) Auto Mode OFF is: [ECO] [Normal] [Sport] 4. Powerbox is now an extra mini BMS protector which now (in addition to the Motor temp) takes into account the battery temp and the SOC condition. 5. My only problem now is that Powerbox memory is now completely full :-( To get more data into Battery info Menu now I have to delete one of tuning profiles. It should be enough with 2 tuning options. one that is safe for the Germans guys and one for those who want MaxPower (which is also very safe to use especially now with extra Regen safety):-))))) For you who love Medium tuning so we can sure make a separate verson for you :-)) V1.72 1. AE (Available Energy) has been removed due to my software program has a bug that makes the Powerbox CAN-Modul unstable. it can not read AE together with B-Temp for some strange reason. it did v1.71 completely useless. AE is regardless in relation to SOC. This means that 1% SOC is equal to 0.061. So it is only to multiply your SOC with 0.061 then you get AE in kWh for example SOC 75 * 0.061 = 4.575kWh SOC 100 * 0.061 = 6.1kWt Which is the full capacity off a Twizy Battery V1.71 1. I has now cleared some more space and made some smarter solutions to gain more space. The Powerbox memory was completely full. 2. I have now managed to make room so that I now was able to create SOC regen limit so that it reduces regen in percentage after which regen settings you have. This will give a much more accurate and smoother transition 0-94% SOC is your regen settings from regen menu 94-94.5% SOC = 87.5% of your regen settings 94.5-95% SOC = 75% of your regen settings 95-95.5% SOC = 62.5% of your regen settings 95.5-96% SOC = 50% of your regen settings 96-96.5% SOC = 37.5% of your regen settings 96.5-97% SOC = 25% of your regen settings 97-98% SOC = 12.5% of your regen settings 98% SOC = 0% of your regen settings 3. and the same reduction for Battery temp 7c and above. The Battery Temp is your regen settings from regen menu 6c Battery Temp = 87.5% of your regen settings 5c Battery Temp = 75% of your regen settings 4c Battery Temp = 62.5% of your regen settings 3c Battery Temp = 50% of your regen settings 2c Battery Temp = 37.5% of your regen settings 1c Battery Temp = 25% of your regen settings 0c Battery Temp = 12.5% of your regen settings -1c Battery Temp = 0% of your regen settings 4. I have also now added AE (Available Energy) this is a good indicator of the battery capacity. Renault promises 6.1 kWh so at 100 SOC it shall be at least 6.1kWh. 75% battery capacity should then be about 4.58kWh. after your rental terms it is now time to demand new battery :-) V1.70 1. Battery temp Battery health and SOC is now added. 2. Neutreal Regeneration is now NOT possible above 94% SOC or if Battery Temp is below 3 degrees. 3. Footbrake Regeneration being auoumatisk changed to a maximum of 10% if the SOC is above 94% and if the battery tempen is below 3 degrees. Footbrake Regeneration is not 100% disabled due brakes becomes to bad. 10% Regeneration is is about the same as the batterycharger charges the battery with so this should be fine 4. a whole new way to retrieve information from the can-bus. V1.66 1. Corrected some typo errors. 2. Reduced maximum current from 450 to 420 Amp in Normal profile so that there is greater difference between Normal and Sport. 3. Fixed an original parameter that was not reset properly (2920.02 Maximum Torque applied during a direction change) 4. In Light Tuning so are the Parameter 2870.01 changed from 3 to 4 means that Battery current limit data source is changed from "Follow Profiles" to "Use max power" This is a little safer especially when the Powerbox is disconnected. V1.65 1. I Have now merged Twizy 45 and Twizy 80 into 1 firmware. The Powerbox should auto detect which model it is connected to. 2. Added auto search of the LCD I2C address so that everyone can now use the same Firmware. V1.64 1. Fixed a EEprom bugs regarding LCD light flashes when the car is turned off. (This apply only a few units) V1.63 1. Fixed a bugs regarding LCD light flashes when the car is turned off. V1.62 1. Fixed some small bugs. V1.60 1. Change profile buttons names to (ECO) (Normal) (Sport). 2. Has added an additional function that checks if the car is in original condition or not. 3. Fixed some small bugs. V1.50 1. Some minor adjustments regarding maximum torque. 2. I added that you can now see what firmware version is on Power box when only the USB cable is connected. 3. Corrected some spelling errors. V1.41 1. Fixed issue with (57Nm) and (80Nm) profile. They were still a little too powerful :-). I've now programmed the whole thing with the profiles in a whole new way so now it works out much better. (57Nm) is still a little more powerful than the original especially up at higher RPM. so shall it be :-) 2. Fixes a bug with profile in Manual Mode. If you are in Manual mode, (57Nm) or (80Nm) profile and turn off the car. and when you then start it again it will show that it is in its last-used profile but the powermap did automatically goes to (100Nm). even if it show that it stil is in (57Nm) or (80Nm). This should now be fixed. 3. When the box is connected to a car then it shall first check whether the car is tuned or not. If it is not tuned then it should go automatically to tuning menu. It should not be possible that the box log in as normal and starts up with the Home screen as long as it is in original condition. (Am a little unsure if this is 100% fixed. So we'll see if there are still some holes that its sneaks through) Just remember that you must disconnect the box when you have set it back to original condition v1.4 V1.3 1. Fixed issue with 57Nm profile was a little too powerful 2. Corrected slightly on regeneration menu and how it reads the value V1.2: 1. Some PowerMap changed in 80 Nm profile in the MaxPower Tuning parameters (Some temperature problems) 2. Added an extra safety profile that activates automatically at 125 degrees. and deactivates again at 115 degrees. If this profile is activated then it reduces the engine power down to 50% and with a maximum top speed of 70 km/h V1.1: 1. Corrected a small error when you put the car back to Original state.(ECU went not in Operational mode as it should) 2. Added Firmware info in Main Menu (Line 3)
